This policy explains what Apple Valley Digital collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and who else can see it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

Who we are

Apple Valley Digital is a digital marketing business based in Apple Valley, MN, serving Apple Valley, Lakeville, Burnsville, Eagan & the south metro. We are the data controller for information collected through this site.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit the contact form, we receive whatever you put in it: your name, email address, and message are required, and phone number, business name, and the service you are interested in are optional. We do not ask for payment details, government identifiers, or any sensitive personal information anywhere on this site.

Information collected automatically

Our host records standard server logs for every request, including IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We also use a privacy-focused analytics tool that reports aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites, and load performance. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. We do not run ad pixels, and we do not share your browsing behaviour with advertising networks.

The site stores a single value in your browser's local storage, recording whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your browser and we cannot read it.

The one exception is the spam protection on our contact form. It is provided by Google reCAPTCHA, which does set cookies and collects device and browser information in order to tell humans from bots. It runs only on the form.

How we use what we collect

• To keep the site working, secure, and reasonably fast
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade, or share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you sent us a contact form.

Who else sees your information

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with that data:

• Netlify — hosts this website and receives and stores contact form submissions.
• Google — provides the reCAPTCHA spam protection on the contact form.
• Cloudflare — provides the aggregate, cookieless website analytics described above.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.

Where your information is held

Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. We choose established providers who contractually commit to protecting data they handle for us.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions for as long as we may reasonably need them for the enquiry and any work that follows, and then delete them. Client records are kept for as long as our legal and tax obligations require. Analytics data is aggregate and is not tied to you.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or state privacy laws. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of them.

To make a request, send it through the form at the bottom of this page and tell us what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request about someone's personal information.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and we rely on reputable providers with their own security programmes. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not collect sensitive categories of data here, which keeps the stakes low by design.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
